Golden retains 3 Miami assistants

New Miami coach Al Golden will retain at least three members of Randy Shannon’s coaching staff, the school announced Sunday in a press release.

Golden will retain Jeff Stoutland, Micheal Barrow and Aubrey Hill.

Stoutland was named Miami’s interim coach when the school fired Shannon shortly after the season ended, and that will hold steady through Miami’s bowl game.

Stoutland will continue to coach offensive line under Golden, Hill will serve as wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator and Barrow will coach linebackers again.

Those three join a staff that also includes defensive coordinator Mark D’Onofrio, defensive line coach Jethro Franklin and defensive backs coach Paul Williams. All three followed Golden from Temple.

Miami still has a few coaching vacancies, most notably at offensive coordinator.
